A Word on Tidying

I won't lie. I've been there too. A house so messed up you don't know where to begin. When you do, it is one thing to the next to dinner to this to that and at the end of the day, it just doesn't show.

So this is what we are going to do. We are going to set aside one complete day to each room in your house. Write the room you choose today on an index card and file it. If you are not done tomorrow, work on it again... as many days as it takes to perfect it. Then, start the next room. Work on it all day every day until it is done, write it on a card, file it behind the last. Continue this until you have your entire house spotless. Include the outside if you like.
When you have finished, you will return to the first day again and it should be the most in need of cleaning at the time. Get into the habbit of doing this daily. Always working on a room and you should be able to keep everything lovely. You may need to spend the first hour each day doing a quick room tidy... grab a laundry basket going from room to room and picking up and putting into the correct rooms but then get to your room and beautify it.

This WILL work. and soon it won't be long you'll have to spend as long as you do it every day... Take one day off a week to do nothing.

You will be so much happier knowing you are doing something. The secret is to not say I'm going to clean my house today. Start with a room... you don't have to finish but you have to work on it all day.... then the next, then the next etc... until you finish. Then the next.

You will end up with one day a week that you are completely free to do as you like knowing everything is in order. Trust me. Enjoy
and much love
Veronica ;)
